Camp Location: Lakeland Caravan Park

I had heard of Lakeland from a Harvest Trail Ad a couple of years ago. In my imagination it was extremely remote hot and dusty outpost NW of Cairns. Well its definitely not remote being located on a major highway linking the Atherton Tableland and Cooktown. The main feature is the Swiss Farms huge banana plantation. It is also the location for the turnoff to the Peninsula Development Road to Weipa and on to the tip of Cape York Penininsula (….sigh….next time hopefully)
