From Red Bank Gorge I decided to return to Temple Bar Caravan Park for a shower and to contemplate my next move. I would highly recommend this park. It has low fees ($12), is situated only 7km from town, is clean and tidy, lots of shade and has scenic surroundings.

On the way I stopped at Finke River Lookout and was surprised to see it had water in it. Apart from having a cool name, it is the largest of the rivers that drain the MacDonnell Ranges, it drains into the Simpson Desert where it disappears again.
