Flinders River Camp

Flinders River

Karumba was the end of the second leg of my ‘Bus 2020 Tour’ and now I drive south towards Cloncurry, Mt I.sa and Camooweal.
This is my first camp at Flinders River. A fairly nice spot if only the camp children would teach their adults how to go to the toilet in the bush, I’m sure the adults would be able to manage after a few tries.

I went for a walk along the river and spotted a couple of freshwater (I think) crocodiles. I was on a sand spit photographing one when there was a loud disturbance in the water behind me. At that point I thought I better retreat quickly to safer ground because if I was on some large reptiles menu I had absolutely no where to run. I took a mental note of these circumstances for future reference.
