Camp Location: Peninsula Caravan Park
Cooktown is a very pleasant little coastal town. It is the most northern point of my 2020 Qld travels. The SE trade winds blow constantly at this time of year keeping the temperatures fairly comfortable. The town has a very friendly atmosphere.
The caravan park was run by a sweet little old lady. When booking in it was better to take a seat, be patient and work through the process. I spent a few pleasant days here walking and shooting the breeze at the waterfront esplanade. I also hiked to the summit of Mount Cook.
